When a patient is missing or loses a tooth, it can be replaced with an implant – a metal rod surgically placed into the jawbone. The implant ‘becomes’ the tooth root and anchor for the crown, bridge, or denture placed over it.
A removable appliance used to replace teeth. A complete denture replaces all of the upper teeth and/or all the lower teeth. A partial denture is used to replace one or more lost teeth.
Any replacement for lost tooth structure or teeth. Bridges and dentures, fillings, crowns and implants are all different types of restoration services.
Dr. Brock is experienced in treating patients who have suffered complex facial injuries through accident or illness, which involve their teeth, mouth and jaw. His initial examination and treatment plan evaluates the reconstructive work needed and if the expertise of additional specialists will be required. These specialists can include Oral Surgeons, Periodontists, Orthodonists, MD Specialists and Plastic Surgeons.
Different cases require different solutions. For some a simple device (orthotic) is all that is needed to reduce temporal and massital muscle force to alleviate pressure on the TMJ.
For others, treatment could include an anti-inflammatory, muscle relaxant or cortico steroids. As a last resort, surgical intervention is sometimes needed. Some patients benefit from MRI imaging to evaluate their condition.
